This is the ZRT NeuroAdvanced neurotransmitter profile plus a saliva hormone panel, collected at home. If you have not looked at the base neurotransmitter panel yet, start there and call us before buying up.
The NeuroAdvanced dried urine profile measures neurotransmitters, their precursors and their metabolites. This combined kit adds a saliva hormone panel on top of it:
Neurotransmitters measured in dried urine include serotonin, GABA, glutamate, glycine, histamine, PEA, dopamine, norepinephrine and epinephrine, along with their metabolites. Your kit insert lists the full panel.
Stress hormones and neurotransmitters interact. Cortisol, as part of the stress response, can suppress the production of other hormones, and mood, sleep and energy sit downstream of both systems. Looking at one without the other can leave the pattern half visible.
Dried urine on filter strips for the neurotransmitter portion, collected at set times through one day, plus saliva for the hormone portion. Prepaid shipping to ZRT Laboratory is included. Results are typically ready in about two weeks.
On the day you collect the urine samples, keep your fluid intake normal and avoid alcohol, nicotine, pineapple and walnuts, all of which ZRT lists as able to interfere with results.
ZRT states that saliva testing is not appropriate for sublingual hormone users, because the hormone contaminates the sample directly, and that blood spot testing is the preferred option for these patients. Flourish compounds sublingual hormones, so if that is you, call 405-751-3333 before ordering.
